This high-energy, upbeat class is designed for all levels with an emphasis on injury prevention through proper alignment and posture modifications. Students will learn the basic yoga poses and their variations in detail, focusing on safe transitions into and out of the different postures, as well as breathing techniques and the connection between breath and movement. We will explore longer holds and flowing sequences to increase body awareness, and build strength, flexibility, and balance. Students will become familiar with the use of props (blocks, straps, bolsters, even the wall) to provide options for more challenging poses as well as restorative postures for active relaxation. We encourage each student to approach their practice with patience and curiosity, and to move at a pace that is both challenging as well as honoring their present moment capacities. Open to all.
