Piper

As a psychology student, Piper completed her honors thesis in “Yoga as a Therapeutic Intervention” and began a lifelong exploration into the many dimensions of Yoga. She received her Integrative Yoga Therapy (300-hour IYT) certification in 1995 and has been teaching full-time since 1996. She is trained in several  forms of bodywork including Bowen Therapy,  Integrated Positional Therapy, Marma Chikitsa, Level 1: Foundations of Ayurveda, and is a Clinical Heart Math Practitioner for Stress, Anxiety, and Self Regulation. She is an Editorial Board Member for the Journal of Yoga Practice and Therapy.

Piper’s teaching style is both supportive and inviting, encouraging students to explore the language of the body through subtle awareness of sensations, a sense of curiosity, and the breath. She is known for her fluid sequencing, nuanced cueing, and accessible modifications that meet students where they are. Her ongoing study across diverse yogic and therapeutic traditions allows her to blend classical wisdom with modern approaches, offering a practice that feels both grounded and innovative.

With more than 5,400 hours of training and 30 years of teaching experience, Piper brings to her classes a precise understanding of alignment and a deep reverence for the breath. She specializes in working with individuals and couples. Her therapeutic focus includes supporting people living with chronic illness, pain, anxiety, depression, respiratory challenges, and pelvic floor dysfunction. She brings a compassionate, clinical, and deeply attuned approach, tailoring sessions to meet the unique needs of each individual.

As the owner of Burlington Yoga since 2001 and the director of the Burlington Yoga Teacher Training since 2009, she is deeply devoted to this ancient wisdom practice, and its profound capacity for transformation.

May we develop compassion for all beings.
